I would like to take this opportunity to explain a little about myself & how Silverback RC Products Ltd came to be....


I have previously spent over 15 years working in the plastics industry. Some as a materials analyst, some as a plastics buyer. I have worked in the extruded tube, high pressure cast, and injection molding fields of the plastics industry. I have worked for company's that manufacture items for the petro/chemical & the oil/gas supply industries. From simple PVC tubes for car windscreen washers, to deep sea oil/gas pipes which are subjected to many thousands of tonnes of pressure. The broad spectrum of my previous work has given me the oportunity to work with some of the most advanced polymers in the world. My experience & contacts in these fields has given me a major advantage in having access to & obtaining these plastics and make full use of them in the RC hop-up industry.

I purchased my first Baja in May 2006 & one of the biggest problems I had with the standard beadlocks was the screws pulling through the beadlock rings. This would usually result in tyres blowing out on a regular basis. The 2 main objectives when designing this (our first production part) was to produce a ring that in theory could be driven with only 5 screws holding the tyre in place & a ring that would significantly reduce the chance of a screw pulling through it. Since then we have developed a range of wheels for the HPI Baja 5B, 5T, and 5SC. We also produce parts for the Losi 5ive-T model.
